You seem to have stumbled across Delerium. Congratulations. Cordially, I invite you to join in the tangled web we weave. The story isn't a long one; in fact it has hardly begun. It involves three families and one extravagant miscommunication...
Hello there literate roleplayers. Are you tired of bland Light vs. Dark plots, equine RPGs that all seem the same, and plots that don't affect your character?
Well we've got a surprise for you. At The Secret it's not just about good and evil. In fact, good and evil don't have a lot to do with things. No matter whose side you're on, you can be as nice or as cruel as you see fit. But if you live in the north you'd better be tough if you want to stay alive. Here's a summary of what kinds of characters you can make:
Southern equines: The Resistance. You like freedom and would rather be left to your own devices. Conquering is not really your thing, you just want to be left alone to start a herd. Weakland equines: The Captives. You keep your head down and hope you don't get beaten up too often. You dream of escaping to the south, but know you'll be killed for trying. Mostly mares live here, though there is a small number of stallions. They usually get beaten down the most so they can't rebel. Northern equines: Tartarus's Legions. You work for the mastermind, Tartarus, the one who blew the news about the object of power out into the open. You answer to his captain Atlas, and you spend your time fighting, bullying mares in the Weaklands, and training colts for the army. If you have any spare time you can gather a small herd. Haven of Hesperides: The Secret Keepers. You know not hate nor greed, and you live within the walls of the Haven. You may leave to explore, but other equines seem so different to you. You live in peace and philosophy, seeking knowledge and enlightenment. But you know what is brewing, and the battle will come to your doorstep even though they cannot break down the door.
We are also accepting staff applications for Global Moderators, Graphics Designers and Skin Designer.
What's going on... ?
There was peace once, though by now it is but a distant memory in the minds of those old enough to remember. There was order and cohesion, and nothing to fear. The Keepers of Hesperides stayed within their walled Haven, and none disrupted their peace. There was always a rumor that an object of unspeakable power lay hidden within those great walls, but in time the rumor grew dull with age. But now a young stallion, maddened with greed, is gathering all the information he can about this mysterious object of celestial power. Flanked by the powerful drafts of the northern lands, he is murdering and taking prisoners left and right. There is only a handful of southern herds that stand against him, led by the mysterious Theseus. If they are vanquished, the Keepers will be on their own. Chaos and uncertainty abound. How much longer can the forces of reason hold off this madman?
The board is set, the pieces are in play. Whose side will you join?

They're not that bad, I promise =). Just fill out our lovely form. We're guest friendly once again. You can use your own format along with any extras so long as it contains this information:
Welcome! Before you join, I have some basic guidelines that need to be followed. Comments? Concerns? PM is beautiful. Thanks! =)
-----GENERAL----- 1. No powerplaying. 2. Grammarliness is next to Godliness. 3. 200+ words/post. 4. Be realistic. 5. Limit cursing. 6. PG-13. 7. Sign up a character, then post. 8. No perfection. 9. Avoid stereotypes. For darks, don't always be the 'evil demon murderer bad-boy/girl' type. Think normal people... how many people are really like that? Same with lights. "Light" is a point of view, not a personality characteristic. And not everyone's freakishly beautiful, are we? 10. Be good. Be nice. Be happy.
-----CHARACTER BALANCING----- We don't want fifty darks and five lights. Soo, we have new rule-age. 1. Have more mares than stallions. 2. For every dark, have two other ACTIVE non-darks of which at least one is light before you make a second. 3. Only one mini OR draft horse per person.
-----LAND----- Claimable Terras 1. Be a stallion of age and be the first to set foot on the land OR take it through a fight with the alpha. 2. Unclaimed mares can be here but may not leave (except if escaping) once claimed. No roaming (except to the Savannah). 3. Any alpha gone for over two weeks without a notice and a substitute will be removed. 4. All alphas are of equal authority for now.
Un-claimable Terras 1. Shared ownership: you can't claim them. 2. Only enter the claiming area of your alliance.
-----STALLIONS & MARES----- Stallions and Colts 1. Colts become stallions at the age of four. 2. Colts cannot breed. 3. Stallions that are not alphas may only claim one mare. 4. Alphas have unlimited capacity for mares. 5. Colts cannot officially challenge or be challenged. 6. Alphas MUST select an alpha mare, asap... 7. Alpha stallions may chase residents out. 8. Alphas can design rules and positions to fit their territory as long as they correspond with Delerious Laws. 9. Alphas can resign.
Mares and Fillies 1. Female equines become Mares at the age of 4. 2. Fillies cannot breed. 3. They may not claim land without a stallion. 4. They cannot be claimed by more than one stallion at a time. 5. Fillies cannot officially challenge/be challenged. 8. If you are claimed by a stallion, you may not leave unless you are going to the foaling/fighting/breeding grounds or escaping.
-----FIGHTING & ESCAPING----- Fighting 1. Fight in the fighting territory. 2. Admin will determine the winner. 3. The individual being challenged has five days to respond and post. 4. You can only challenge for land if your account is 15 days old or more. A stallion can only be challenged every 2 months (real time). Fights can only last a week. 5. In a fight for land, size will be overlooked (i.e. Draft vs. Normal).
Escaping 1. When a mare decides to attempt an escape, they may mention their effort to escape and where they are going. The stallion has three days to pursue her or let her go. 2. If the stallion decides to pursue, it will be settled by a fight in the fighting board. Within a week an admin will intervene with the winner.
-----BREED & FOAL-----
1. DO NOT roleplay the breeding, foaling... keep it short and brief. 2. In the appropriate forum, post the statistics (listed in the forum) of both parents. 3. An admin will post foal statistics. After this, you may roleplay the foal. 4. Breeding/Foaling seasons are Spring and Fall. Out of season births will often be stillborn. 5. Forcing is allowed, but all rules apply, and you must post parent statistics. It may or may not be considered a sucessful breeding.
-----CHRONOLOGY----- 1. Every month real time is a year in Forever Free. Each year will only consist of two seasons (see #3) 2. In each month, a new season will start on the 1st and another will on the 15th.
